Our Moon Mirror Evaluation

Our invention was a Complimentary Mirror, which gives you compliments as you feel sad or down. Our design was a solar eclipse, with a concaved moon on the outside and the mirror in the middle. Light coming out of the mirror, on to the moon, showing the process of an eclipse. The concave allows it to be looked at from different angles so it gives the illusion of a real eclipse. It has a frown detector, sort of like a smile detector in cameras, but it detects frowns and sad faces so it gives you a compliment, suitable for anybody. Batteries power the device, and it has 4 speakers on the back, for a full, clear sound.
Our mirror is a complimentary mirror, which means you can put it anywhere, and it detects your unhappy, and it gives a confidence boosting compliment, which can help your overall day. Why is this useful? It can boost your ego for the whole day, if you’re going out, or staying at home. Basically its good anywhere. You can place it in your bathroom, so when you wake up in the morning, it gives you a compliment. Place it in you hallway, so when you com back from a hard day at work, it gives you a compliment, such as “Cheer up! You look stunning.” Or something of that kind.
The Design Cycle
When we investigated to see if something was like this was already invented, and the only thing I found was little kids toys, or pocket compliment toys. We wanted something full-scale, and to be taken as a real, modern product. Disney toys were not what we were trying to do. To start off with our design, we looked at some cool, modern mirrors to find our design. There were puzzle mirrors, fading mirrors, abstract mirrors, and many more very nice mirrors. We chose some of those as our starting designs, but in the end we ended up with our moon design. To plan our product, we said it had to have a cool design, so we though of the moon. The eclipse idea was Mikes, and it was a cool idea. I think our design was pretty unique. We drew it out, and we labeled it, and drew it the basic shape and details. Suddenly we decided to color it purple and the background in a wacky color. When we presented, people had a lot of questions, and we had forgot one thing. The price! We figured with the technology it has, it would be around $100. Will you buy it? =]
